Hello! I've been into the SPN fandom for years but what's the jivorce? feel like i missed something 😭 Have a lovely day!
Babe, how? 😭 you missed one of the biggest level 10 events of spn history skjsjs
Basically, after spn ended, Jensen and Danneel decided to make a prequel about John and Mary and they didn't tell Jared and instead of taking it up with them in private as an adult, he had a whole chaotic meltdown on twitter. It was truly a time to be alive.
Watch this!!!

Can you explain the jared/spn drama? I have no idea whats happening
Sure! I'm answering on mobile so I don't got no links at hand, but if you look under tags such as "j2 fallout" and "spn prequel meltdown" on my blog, you can find a lot of links and screenshots recalling the events.
Basically, just last week Jensen came out in an interview saying that a prequel to the Supernatural series is in the works. His production company that he co-owns with his wife, Danneel, and a former Supernatural writer, Robbie Thompson, are all signed on to moving forward with the pre-production of a series pilot.
(I can go into more details about that, but you've specifically asked about the J@rpad thing. So here that is:)
Jensen tweets out the article with the interview. Twitter (and Tumblr) go nuts. Mostly 'cause we're not too hot for the premise. J@r tweeted out that he was happy for Jensen, but "gutted" that he found out via Twitter and saddened that Sam Winchester had no part in it (it being... I guess pitching the prequel? That's about all that's happenened.) He continued to tweet out that he was not joking, he didn't know before the Twitter post, and even went as far as to tag the writer Robbie Thompson claiming that he also felt betrayed by him. ("Et tu brute? #brave for a coward." But he has since deleted that specific tweet.)
After an hour or two stewing on that, he tweeted out that he and Jensen had a long talk, like they always do, and this was just one bump in the road of their lifelong brothership. Jensen retweeted that saying he was happy to talk to J@rpad as they hadn't spoke in a while due to their other commitments, and things have (seemingly) smoothed over.
So long story short, J@rpad got offended that Jensen hadn't told him about the prequel, took to Twitter to publicly criticize him over this, and then was soothed by a reassuring Jensen. What this means for their friendship, I have no clue. I'm not them and I don't know them, but even Jensen's aunt had taken to Twitter on the defense of her nephew, telling people who persecuted Jensen for his actions that they didn't know what they were talking about.
Obviously, the only one person who it seems like truly new prior to the article (as the rest is speculation) outside of the production and writing team was series creator Eric Kripke. He had tweeted out congratulating Jensen, and then eventually tweeted out acknowledging that he had no idea J@rpad was not informed about the continuation of the series by means of a prequel.
I, as is probably easy to tell, am very biased on the event. I think J@rpad acted very immature and prematurely. While I've got conflicted feelings on the prequel itself, I'm very confident on my stance in regards to that.
I hope that was sufficient enough an explanation. If I need to go into more details, I can. It was a a busy few days.

So, I suppose I missed this post or reblog in response to one of mine:
When I click on the link, it says the post no longer exists, so I wasn't able to see all of the ignorant points made in reply to this post. But I will ask one thing: why on earth when these Misha haters talk, do these always mention two things about him: his looks (or his image) and his employment? What do either of these two topics have to do with anything? And how does that make you feel like it validates your point that you’re trying to make?
A shitty prequel? It doesn’t even exist yet. And it kills me that you supposed jarpad/Sam stans not only don’t see this prequel for what it is, but see how important the background story is to both Winchester brothers, to their characters. As you have infamously told many of us over the last SEVEN MONTHS, SPN wasn’t just about Dean, right? John and Mary had two boys. Just because Jarpad and/or Sam may not be involved with the project doesn’t mean that this isn’t crucial for both boys’ stories. If I read the summation correctly from what has already been talked about, the story that will take place pre-dates Dean and Sam’s births. Sam is the younger brother, as we know, so it makes sense. You already have Jarpad for Walker, he’s already committed full-time to another project on the same network, and based on your blog name, you’re obviously aware of this fact. So why is it so bad that Jensen wants to work on a prequel project to start at the very beginning and explore how this all connects to the story we know from the past 15 years? It’s unbelievable and astounding to say the least how your group perceives things sometimes.
You don’t have to give a shit about what? Had you left the post up or contacted me directly through messages, maybe I could have responded to you on this point. However, you didn’t, so that’s the end of my response.
I hope you and your group have a good weekend. Sounds like you could use it. Peace.

The hilarity that Deadline later posted an article about Jared’s Twitter tantrum. He will never learn what not to put on Twitter.
“Supernatural, one of the most important series in the history of the CW, is eying a comeback with a new iteration, prequel The Winchesters centered on Dean and Sam Winchester’s parents. The project, now in development at the network, is executive produced by Supernatural star Jensen Ackles, who will also reprise his Dean Winchester character as a narrator of the new show, and Ackles’ wife, Supernatural recurring guest star Danneel.
The Winchesters, which has a script commitment, is written/executive produced by another Supernatural alum, former co-executive producer Robbie Thompson.”

there’s just. there’s just so much to unpack here. I mean:
- jensen emphasising this is the FIRST story he wants to tell about the spn verse (read: the destiel spin off is coming)
- chaos machine's new pride icon
- misha joking the prequel needs a trench-coated angel, which, based on historical data, only means one thing: the prequel absolutely has a trench-coated angel in it (our favourite one with the rainbow wings and squinty eyes, to be specific)
- kripke causing multiple social media platforms to explode by liking said tweet
- jared hearing about the prequel for the first time on twitter at the same time as the rest of us
- misha absolutely not hearing about the prequel for the first time on twitter at the same time as the rest of us
- the entirety of tumblr and twitter trying to fathom why jensen decided to make a show about a character the whole spn fandom have spent fifteen years wanting to punch very hard in the face
- hot topics include: will john's shitty actions be ignored or explored? is the prequel really just a cover for a destiel spinoff?? or just an elaborate and expensive method of ensuring cas finally, in some universe, gets to smite john?
- rowena considered for the prequel but not sam
- it becomes clear danneel and jensen knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they named their production company "chaos machine"
- et tu brute, gutted, bummed
- the increasingly likely possibility that the french mistake and the mockumentary were actually prophetic visions (related: someone check on misha)
- bobo berens and kripke add more fuel to the twittersphere fire
- most of the fandom yelling "fight, fight, fight" at the cast of their favourite show six months after it ending
- a complete, collective tumblr meltdown as fires that have been brewing in opposing corners of the fandom for over a decade implode into either vindication or denial
- unprecedented scenes in fandom history as self-confessed ex-j2 stans quietly let themselves into the cockles trash dumpster
- the realisation that jensen has been plotting this for months (important questions: how long has he known? when they were filming the finale?? at the creation con panel? is this what was going on under all that sexy silence???)
- most of tumblr on tenterhooks simply from watching two middle aged men follow and unfollow each other on twitter
- the fact there are still conventions booked and j2 panels that are absolutely going to happen after all of this
- no one knows if biden is okay

hello darling, how are you doing!!
has jared padalecki always been this problematic or is this a more recent development???
have a wonderful day!!! love ❤️
hello, dear!
jared has always had some... issues. for years, it seemed like it was largely foot-in-mouth disease or straight white man syndrome, as he had a tendency to just blurt out stupid or inappropriate things without considering the ramifications of what he was saying. tbh, i defended him for a long time, because i genuinely thought that he had a good heart and occasional diarrhea of the mouth.
looking back, however, there are red flags that we didn't want to acknowledge. probably the biggest issues have been the way he's treated service employees and how his 'pranks' evolved into sexually harassing and assaulting his coworkers. there was also his 'wrestling' habit.
the point at which jared "jumped the shark", so to speak, started around the time of the spn finale and as we learned more about walker, at which point it became apparent that he had chosen to sell himself to right wing racists and bootlickers to advance his career. i wrote this post last year explaining what was upsetting about jared's behavior re: the finale and how his involvement with walker is bigoted.
then last june came jared's epic twitter meltdown ("et tu brute"gate) over the prequel news, which furthered people's bad opinion of him and intensified rumors that jensen and he have grown apart/jensen is distancing himself from jared. i contributed to a post explaining the whole situation.
he also complained about having to take care of his children and stated he was glad that sam didn't end up with eileen. i think we all know that the only reason why that would be is that she's Deaf.
THEN at the first con since the finale, jared interrupted jensen as he answered a question about destiel and went on a two-minute-long homophobic rant wherein he compared being gay to incest and pedophilia and was in general horrendously offensive.
so yeah, that's What's Happened With Jared over the last few years. we're going to call this the official What Happened With Jared post. feel free to let me know if there's anything significant i missed.

Whooo boy. So it turns out jp is an idiot (and also his representation) who apparently signed a holding contract with cbs, which means he can’t be involved in any project that isn’t a cbs property, such as the spn prequel, until that contract runs out. This is probably the real reason for his overreaction and meltdown about the prequel news. He wanted to have been informed about it before he signed that contract, but like, it’s not Jensen’s problem that he wasn’t smart enough to realize that that kind of contract is a bad idea at this point in his career.
Okay, wow! That’s dumb as fuck but also extremely hilarious ngl. But wasn’t wanker in the works a whole year before 2020 because he was gonna go film it right after the show ended in May but then because of covid he couldn’t? So that would mean he signed that contract way before spn prequel came in the works.. So either way he wouldn’t be able to do shit with it. However either way, he’s a grown ass man with a grown ass team which means this is his own damn fault for not reading contracts.
#anonymous#okay but this is hilarious as fuck tho#if we get more spn content its just dean and cas#hell yeah

Following the release of the pilot of that bloody Winchester prequel yesterday, a lot of people have been excitedly posting interviews and articles on it and starting up the meta and spec again. I thought I'd be able to avoid seeing it on here but this is the SPN website so clearly that was a bad assumption.
Thing is, I genuinely believed I was okay. This year has been SO GOOD for me for healing the wounds that SPN carved into me. With OFMD, WWDITS, The Sandman, IWTV, and now Good Omens 2 news I have been happily existing in a little joy filled bubble everytime I come on Tumblr.
I just scrolled past a post which had screenshots of an article from Robbie Thompson on the Winchesters. I thought I'd read it out of curiosity. I shouldn't have.
It brought everything back. Talk of the Winchester brothers and how "theres no Dean if there aint no Sam" and how they arent changing a damn thing about SPN canon, and how we will find out where Dean is, with the writer speculating he's telling the story from heaven...
I don't know why, but it hurt.
It was like something had decided to prod really hard at the old SPN scars, the ones that never really healed right to begin with, and are still jagged and tender even after 7 months of solid healing thanks to only consuming media that actually respects me as a person.
I haven't felt that kind of pain since Jared Padalecki last opened the hole in his face to spew bullshit about how the finale from Hell was so perfect and right for the brothers *gags*.
It wasnt even a bad article, but it acknowledged things I had tried to erase from my head. God. Im so fucked up. That horrible show fucked me up so much. I wanted to just shut down tumblr and mentally check myself out for a bit and put on the Dreamcast on spotify or something, but I had to get this off my chest, even if people read this and think im fucking moronic for caring so much and wasting energy on this stupid show and why do I care right?
7 fucking years I devoted to that horseshit show. 7 fucking years I held it in my heart and adored it even though the whole time it clawed and carved at me and hated me because I wasnt the audience it wanted.
One little article and I feel like ive been triggered even though that word should be far too strong for something as stupid as getting emotional over a TV show. Im having a minor breakdown in my living room at 10pm on a Wednesday night in 2022 over fucking SPN.
I dont even know why im openly admitting this on the spn website when I know its gonna subject me to hate and a whole mass loss of followers but I had to get this out. I had to write it down. Its so difficult to express how this show makes me feel. I dont wanna be the one you all roll your eyes at and call a negative anti but I also don't understand how everyone else seems to have slipped so easily back into old habits.
I wanna scream at everyone not to be fooled. But I dont wanna stamp on other peoples joy either. So I guess I gotta remove myself from the equation here. Fool me once etc etc.
Im gonna have to unfollow some long term mutuals, especially those that arent tagging content. If you correctly tag every winchester related post and reblog then at least my filters will block them, but if they slip through im gonna have to unfollow. I cant be having 10pm meltdowns over SPN at this point in my life. Not when there is so much good stuff out there to be focusing on instead.
#rants about spn#sorry#personal#turns out im still an emotional wreck 2 years later#sigh#sorry to trample on your fun

Hi! I’m not really into the supernatural fandom but i have to know what that anon asked about a tweet and Jared replied “you too brutus” post meant? what was that about? sorry this is weird and random!
hey yeah so basically last summer, jensen ackles (costar) announced a prequel to supernatural was in the works. all of his spn costars were congratulating him except jared padalecki, who tweeted out that he was “gutted” to find out about the prequel along with the general public instead of being told beforehand privately. he then went on to have like- a full blown twitter meltdown. that meltdown included tweeting this to robbie thompson, former writer for supernatural and announced to be working on the spn prequel:
and then he deleted it not even 5 minutes later. more stuff happened that weekend, but ultimately (unfortunately) they smoothed things over, learned that private messages are a thing, and jared realized that crying on twitter can get him his way.
#this is a really summarized version of the most chaotic 72 hours of my internet experience but i think the point gets across#j2 fallout#yeah i love that i had ‘j2 fallout theory’ as a tracked tag months before this skdjkffkks#asks

Okay okay WAIT what the fuck happened with spn I’m trying to get a lay of the land and I think I get the gist but I need details bc I am losing it
HELLO OH MY GOD okay so basically jensen announces that his and danneel's production company is making a spn prequel about john and mary. literally everyone is disappointed by this because what the fuck not a single person asked for that whether they're casgirls or bibros EVERYONES pissed
BUT THEN. j*red quote tweets jensen saying this
[id: a jared padalecki quote tweeting jensen ackles' tweet linking to an article about the prequel. jared's tweet reads "dude. happy for you. wish i heard about this some way other than twitter. i'm excited to watch, but bummed that sam winchester had no involvement whatsoever."]
now at this point it was unclear whether this was a joke and a lot of people including myself thought it might be but THEN he quote tweets a fan:
[id: jared padalecki quote tweeting a tweet from ash 🍉 @boysandballet. their tweet reads "this has GOTTA be a bad joke hello @jarpad @jensenackles this ain't it sirs we're freaking out" and jared's response reads "no. it's not. this is the first i've heard of it. i'm gutted."]
now after THIS it definitely started to seem like this might not be a joke and then JE TWEETED @ ROBBIE THOMPSON, WHO IT WAS ANNOUNCED WOULD BE WRITING ON THE PREQUEL AND DELETED THAT TWEET WITHIN 5 MINUTES
[id: a tweet from jared padalecki that reads "@rthompson1138 et tu brute?? wow. what a trully awful thing you've done. #Bravo you coward."]
the combination of the typo AND the fact he deleted this tweet so quickly and hasn't said anything since REALLY makes it seem more like one of his genuine twitter meltdowns than a joke. within like just a few minutes of that robbie thompson retweets his own "I ❤ you #spnfamily" tweet which DEFINITELY makes me think he saw the et tu brute tweet
other things that happened tonight that aren't directly part of the drama but ARE related:
this exchange between danneel and ruth
[id: an exchange between ruth connell and danneel ackles in the comments of danneel's instagram post about the prequel. ruth says "reckon rowena was active on the DISCO scene - just sayin 😘" and danneel responds "i'm not going to say that hasn't been discussed 😍"]
WHICH. MILF RIGHTS. manifesting a scene of rowena in a dress with a plunging neckline and shoulderpads
and ALSO bobo berens liked a tweet that said "is kelios ok" which is SO fucking funny (kelios is NOT okay kelios is having a meltdown on jared's behalf and somehow blaming hellers for this??)

Sorry, I am blind as Jared, how is what he said offensive and insulting?
Theres a whole backstory that I’m not sure if you’re aware of it, nonnie.
But essentially because he had a meltdown on Twitter over the announcement they Jensen was working on a prequel.
It was obvious he didn’t even read the article and jumped the gun and got pissy even stating about Sam Winchester not being involved.
When the show is about John and Mary and set in 1972, almost ten years before Sam is born.
Plus, it’s not even a series yet. Right now, it’s just that the network is willing to pay Chaos Machine to provide them with at least one script (the article didn’t say how many scripts they committed to).
The network could still say no, or require changes. Of Jensen didn’t want those changes then he could say no and drop the project.
Plus, my understanding is that the publication is basically used to find investors. So it was their way of reaching out and saying “we have rights to this beloved and long running IP and we want to do something with it” and then investors would be like “oh, yes, I can see how this is will work out nice and I’d like to be involved” and give them money to make the show, for a piece of the profits.
This is a show about family and friends. And then you have the actor who was another lead, and brother to the producer, throwing a tantrum about not being told or given the opportunity to be involved (when there is nothing to be involved in yet, because there is no show and no script yet).
That could be a turn off to investors who then decide to not be part of the show.
Not only that, but Jensen didn’t owe him anything. This is Jensen’s company and Jensen’s future. And it could have just gotten fucked up.
They’d talked about retiring from acting after SPN and I think Jensen was probably hoping to be able to do that in the near future. Chaos Machine, I assume, was intended to be his big ticket item that would generate the most profits for him. And allow him to still stay in the tv and movie industry, while still having the brewery and his band.
The last couple years especially, Jensen seems more like the babysitter than the friend/older brother. And I think he’s been distancing himself.
Idk if the pic Jensen posted at 3 am was him letting out frustration or if it is meant as a nod to what Soldier Boy is going through in the series.
But I think more the former. Jensen talked about in the Gish zoom about how he hasn’t seen his family in 8 weeks (and it’s been a month since that zoom, so now it’s been even longer) and that it was the longest he’s gone without being able to see Danneel and the kids. And that for the first time ever, he has to miss his daughter’s birthday.
So, the announcement comes, the meltdown comes, the forced PR smooth over happens. The next day, Jared, who in their March panel talked about how he can’t be with his kids for more than 20 minutes and said he doesn’t know what to do with “these things” when they want him to play with them, posts a pic of them all in the pool.
I’m not sure if he did it intentionally. But considering he hasn’t posted about the kids really at all, it seems like it was an intentional dig at Jensen.
Then you have Gen and Dee putting up IG stories which seemed to be a dig at the other family. And then Jensen made a post that also could have been a dig back at Jared.
Either way; then Jensen posts about trying to cope with shit and Jared responds about having nightmares about the post.
But at this point, he needs to just step back and let Jensen live his life. They don’t need to appear to be best friends anymore. Jensen already got rid of the house that was down the road from Jared a few years ago.
Now he’s moved to Colorado. And sure, they still have a house somewhere in Austin, but I get the feeling that Colorado will be their main residence.
So, while Jared was the one who thought the show ended in a satisfying manner, knowing Jensen did not feel the same at all, and has mentioned many times about how Dean would be back, Jared seems to be the one who is unable to let go.
Jared is producing and starring in a new show.
So I don’t know why he feels he has the right to be angry at Jensen for wanting to bring back a version of the show that Jensen also starred in. Especially when he’s been vocal since at least comic con in July 2019, about coming back and it not being over for him.
This also makes me think that the show was literally ending so that he go on to do the other show for the network. That Jensen hadn’t wanted to end it after 15, but really didn’t have a choice.
Tl;dr: Jared acted childish and could have ruined Jensen’s first production with his new company. It also paints a bad image for Chaos Machine to investors and to the moose’s stans who have since started attacking Jensen and Danneel over this.
All he had to do, was send him a text or call him.
But then again, he’s known for Twitter meltdowns and sending his fans to attack whoever he has a grievance against.
